CINNAMON
Ceylon cinnamon, scientifically known as Cinnamomum verum or “true cinnamon,” is a spice that comes from the inner bark of trees belonging to the Cinnamomum verum species. It is primarily cultivated in Sri Lanka (formerly known as Ceylon), Madagascar, Seychelles, and India. Ceylon cinnamon is considered to be of higher quality and is often regarded as the “true” or “real” cinnamon, as opposed to cassia cinnamon, which is a different variety commonly found in most grocery stores.
